2 in 1 Cables Mean Less Weight and Less Clutter
If you are an iPhone user and you’re using an external battery to power your recharge your phone and electronics on backpacking trips, thru hikes or general travel (I use the Anker PowerCore+ 13400), then you likely need a lightning cable to charge your iPhone from your external battery and a micro USB cable to charge your external battery from the wall (I use the Anker USB C Wall Charger).
To solve the problem of having to use two cables and to have a shorter 1 foot lightning iPhone cable, as opposed to the standard 3 foot lightning cables that come with iPhones, one option is to get a 2-in-1 Lightning and Micro USB Cable.
Amazon.com sells one for $10.99 and REI sells one for $24.99, I went with Amazon and it has been great so far on my 2016 PCT Thru Hike!
