Today we left Lone Pine after a successful resupply. It’s always nice to get a haircut, resupply with food, drink a milkshake, do laundry, sleep in a real bed, meet up with friends, and send some extra gear home. I opted to send home my crampons since friends that have already gone over Forrester pass and other icy sections of the Sierras told me they were not absolutely necessary. I had previously sent home my whippet so I am no longer carrying any ice gear for the Sierras, will have to see how that plays out.

Tomorrow will be a short 10 mile day to Crabtree Ranger Station and campground where we will position ourselves for an early-morning ascent of Mount Whitney. I have summited Whitney in the past but during very cold winter conditions, so I’m looking forward to summoning with some beautiful summer.
