The Daily Foot Injury Struggle Continues On

So day 4 of new shoes and new approach to plantar. Feet felt great at the beginning of the day and had no plantar (heal or arch) pain at all but, my right achilles was a big deal the second half of the day. Had a few thousand feet of climbing, so that def played a role, but this type of pain was to be expected when moving to a zero drop shoe. Had a nice lunch and nap at Glen Aulin and then had to take a few long breaks as my achilles weren’t recovering … I feel strongly that if I can work my achilles in and not overstress them in the break in period, I will be be good to go, but that’s hard to do when I’m hiking every day and trying to get in miles. I called it early at the McCabe Creek fork after only 13 miles. We’ll see how the rest of the week goes!
